Skate Your Way To Breast Cancer Awareness

TIt’s always a good time to spread breast cancer awareness.

The 13th Annual Skate the Lake returned to Lake Tahoe  to raise money for breast cancer prevention and survivorship. Supporters of the cause gathered to spread awareness and encourage an active lifestyle for all generations.

What sets B4BC apart from other organizations is its target audience. They want to empower  young women by educating them on how to lower their risk of developing breast cancer.

B4BC campaigns include Check One, Two Campus Outreach Tour and Shred the Love.

Check One, Two Campus  is an activity wherein volunteers go from one college campus to another in an effort to reach out and educate young women on how to reduce breast cancer risk.

Meanwhile, Shred the Love is a partnership between local mountains and B4BC to promote sustainability and an active lifestyle. Participants are invited to snowboard their way to raise money for the organization’s awareness and survivorship campaigns.

Skate the Lake is just one of the many activities hosted by Boarding for Breast Cancer, a non-profit organization founded in 1996.

In 2016, they have hosted over 50 events with all profits going to breast cancer programs – how awesome is that? We at BCFG applaud the efforts of B4BC for thinking of such innovative ways to bring awareness closer to the youth!
